yes, it has been monumental... this is crazy weather for Seattle. 14 inches of snow at our house and it stayed put for over a week.
We had a great early Christmas down in Oregon with the Hoffmans. Lots of good eating, fun in the snow and a little adventure mixed in. We rode the train down to avoid driving in the terrible weather, but our train home was cancelled due to the freezing temperatures. We stayed an extra night then were lucky enough that Randy and Cole let us drive their Explorer back up to Seattle. The drive was pretty rough in spots around Portland, but we made it with no scares. It worked out perfect, because Joni and Otis brought it back down the next day.
The Van Deusens decided to come our way for Christmas, because we weren't sure when Kelly and Ben were going to make it in due to the weather. We all squeezed into our little townhome and managed to not kill each other. It was great to be together, all of us, without distractions or interuptions. I really love my family. We ate our nutbread, danced our crazy dances, listened to Amahl and the Night Visitors, drank our coffee and were merry.
