Returning to St. George is like magic. It stays the same, while we just get older.
Every year there are new shops that appear in the town hub--trying to sell ice cream, boogie boards, or shrimp for cheaper than the others. They kind of tease the culture of the town, somehow pretending they can make it more hip or upper class. They might change the strip a little, but they can't change the beach.
The sunrise still looks the same. The sand still feels the same and makes the same perfect drip castles. The water still rotates between perfectly calm and choppy--teasing us to come pretend to ride the waves in.
It is beautifully predictable. Calming. I love it.
Our visit was filled with lots of good food, crazy dancing, coffee, mornings under the beach cabana and afternoons at the pool.
It was wonderful to see Will with his Great Grandpa (or Great Poppy) and all the cousins, aunts and uncles.
Here is how we began our day a couple times--down on the beach, catching the end of the sunrise.
