San Francisco

Here are some pictures from my time visiting Loni in San Francisco over Memorial Day weekend. Carnival was happening in the Mission, the neighborhood where Loni lives. The parade was incredible! It was about 3 hours long and was the most lively and colorful parade I've ever seen. I loved seeing the women of all ages, shapes, sizes and cultures dancing. I would almost say it was healing to watch groups who had multiple generations of women and young girls in beautiful costumes enjoying themselves and celebrating.









Other highlights of the weekend were great conversation over our first raw food/vegan/very hippie/free lovin restaurant experience (Cafe Gratitude), Philz Coffee where they make every person's cup individually, enjoying a fantastic chocolate Ghiradelli sundae, riding the trolly with the sun on my face, admiring the beautiful murals throughout Loni's neighborhood, drumming in the drum circle at Carnival and searching for the hidden Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory in Chinatown.






I have so many pictures... I'd love to put them all up, but these will have to do for now.
