Harry Potter Online

So Lance has been reading through the Harry Potter Series. I got him book one for Christmas. He has been getting them one-by-one from the library, but sometimes they haven't had the book he needed so he read at least one of them online. I am not exactly sure how he found it, but he found the whole book as a word document. This week he finished book four, but couldn't find book five at the library so he went searching online. He downloaded what he thought was book five and started reading it. He mentioned to me last night that it wasn't very good... and he was beginning to wonder if it wasn't the real thing. He said it was like dreaming about your favorite thing, but everything is terribly wrong.

Tonight he went to the library and got book 5... and the real thing is much better. He isn't exactly sure what he was reading, but it seemed to be some sort of Harry Potter knock off.

This is very funny to me.

How long did he read the fake for?! That is hilarious. Also, the dedication to read an entire book online is pretty amazing.

I think he read a good third of the book... what I'm still wondering is if book 2 that he read online was the real thing? He said he knew this one wasn't the real Harry Potter because there was some kissing scene--too soon for little Harry... that couldn't come in book five.

Who writes a fake Harry Potter? What kind of person takes that much time?
